Corrections and real bid sheets are the most useful things you can send us.
Home Palais is an editorial desk, not a contractor referral service. That shapes what we can and cannot help with, so this page says both plainly before you write.
Everything reaches one mailbox, listed at the bottom of this page. We read all of it, we answer what we can, and corrections go to the front of the queue.
What we are glad to receive
- Corrections
- A figure that looks wrong, a material we have mischaracterized, a line item we missed. Tell us which page and what it says. We correct pages and note the correction rather than editing quietly.
- Real bid sheets
- The single most useful thing a reader can send. If you have priced a job recently and our range did not match, an anonymized quote tells us more than any published dataset. Remove your name and address before sending.
- Coverage requests
- A project we have not costed, or a question our guides do not answer. We plan the editorial calendar partly from these.
- Advertising and partnerships
- Display, sponsored content and product review enquiries. Our terms and what we do not accept are set out on the advertising page.
What we cannot help with
We do not connect homeowners with contractors. Home Palais runs no quote forms and holds no contractor network, by design: a publication that brokers leads has a financial interest in how urgent it makes your repair sound.
That means we cannot pass your details to anyone, recommend a specific company in your area, or arrange a site visit. If you write asking for quotes, we will point you back to the checklist in the relevant cost guide, which tells you what to ask for and what a serious bid must contain.
- We cannot quote your job. Our guides publish national brackets, and a real price needs someone on your roof.
- We cannot recommend a contractor near you, or vouch for one you have found.
- We cannot advise on a dispute with a contractor, an insurance claim, or a permit application. Those need a professional in your jurisdiction.
- We cannot assess safety or structural questions from a description. If something looks unsafe, stop and call a licensed trade.

Guides are split across three desks, so mentioning the subject helps your message reach the right person.

What happens to what you send
Your email address is used to reply to you and nothing else. It is not added to a marketing list without your asking, not passed to a contractor, and not sold. Our full privacy policy covers this in detail.
If you send a bid sheet we may quote figures from it in a guide, always anonymized and never with your name, address or contractor identified, unless you tell us otherwise in writing.
